Urology Clinical Network
Clinical Lead: Mr. Pete Cooke (RWT), Project Manager: Khalida Begum (BCPC)
The Urology clinical network has been proactive in engaging its partners throughout the year creating an environment which is conducive to system wide working and identified four key priorities for progression, which are:-
- Implementation of a HVLC (High Volume, Low Complexity) Programme
- Specialist Cancer Pathways
- Local Anaesthetic Transperineal (LATP) biopsy service
- Better organisation of specialist services
Looking Ahead
In addition to the focus on our priorities, there have been a number of notable successes for the urology clinical network such as:
- bringing together subspeciality leads enabling learning from our partners and engaging with systems beyond the Black Country.
- working collaboratively with teams at the ICB as a driver for change, such as volunteering to pilot a system wide PTL and working with analysts to develop a dynamic capacity and demand model to demonstrate how capacity can be flexed to meet service needs and predict workforce resource deficits.
Over the remainder of the forthcoming financial year, the network aims to make progress against the priorities and begin measuring benefits once the priorities draw to a close.
